Step back into Retro Taranaki’s pop culture with Kount Five Plus Two, a covers band from the 60s to 80s. This vibrant exhibition lets visitors explore the music, fashion, and fun of those decades.
First, guests encounter a mural of record covers printed on Phototex. Then, a window covered with translucent film creates a lightbox effect. Nearby, a ticket booth features a looping actor who invites visitors inside.
The centerpiece is the band member profile wall. Made from sustainable Re-Board with flatbed printing and aluminium trim, it combines style and eco-friendliness.
Next, kids can enjoy a magnetic dress-up activity. This uses a bright green steel composite sheet printed with characters and magnetic pieces, all precisely cut. In the lounge area, museum furniture pairs with retro wallpaper and a modern flatscreen TV disguised as an old model using printed acrylic trims.
Additionally, five listening post tables offer interactive cube puzzles, lollipop signs, and angled control panels—all covered in vinyl for easy reuse. A nearby play area includes a caravan slide, vinyl grass, and a twister game mat for extra fun.
Moreover, the Westown Hotel Bar is recreated with woodgrain vinyl on MDF panels, faux wall paneling, and a mirrored bookshelf display case. The retro carpet floor graphic ties the space together.
Overall, this exhibition is a lively, immersive celebration of past decades. It blends sustainable materials, creative design, and interactive fun. Our team is proud to have brought it to life.
